
Cristina Rabadán-Diehl to Speak on Prevention and Management of Drug Overdose Deaths at WHO Forum

Cristina Rabadán-Diehl has been invited to speak at the World Health Organization’s Third Forum on Alcohol, Drugs, and Addictive Behaviors (FADAB), June 22 – 25, 2021 as part of the “Prevention and Management of Drug Overdose Deaths” session. She will provide perspective on the importance of enhancing public health actions to address deaths due to substance use disorders. She will also participate in the panel discussion.
Dr. Rabadán-Diehl is a Westat Associate Director and multidisciplinary scientist. She is a member of the SAMHSA National Advisory Council and the Maryland Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council, and collaborates with national organizations like Shatterproof and Addiction Policy Forum. She lost her son in 2019 to an opioid overdose.
FADAB works to strengthen partnerships and collaboration among public health organizations, networks, and institutions to accelerate and sustain public health actions. This gathering focuses on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic that presents challenges for public health actions aimed at reducing the health and social burden due to use of alcohol, psychoactive drugs and addictive behaviors.
