Westat’s Kathleen Tiefenwerth, M.S., Georgine Price, M.P.H., and Christine Anderson, Ph.D., prepared their presentation for attendees based on their work during 2020: Site Monitoring and Site Management During COVID-19: A Contract Research Organization’s Experience.

The presentation covered how these researchers developed guidelines for conducting remote visits, assessed site capabilities for remote monitoring, assessed feasibility, and noted issues and lessons learned.

Ms. Tiefenwerth explained that it was key to ensure that proper tools were in place so that participant safety, confidentiality, and data integrity can be assured by thorough monitoring.
