

Karen Martier
Vice President
Karen Martier serves as Vice President and Associate Director in the Clinical Trials Practice and has over 18 years of experience directing and managing clinical trials projects. She is the program manager and Westat lead officer for several projects, including NCI’s Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU) contract providing oversight and leadership to all operational and informatics services and managing activities such as budget, contracts, and client relations.
Ms. Martier has also served as project manager for a contract focusing on the adoption of new technologies for remote data capture and protocol authoring on CTSU protocols and for a subcontract to support development of NCI’s Cancer Clinical Central Patient Registry.
As senior data management manager for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia-Westat Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC), she was involved in the assessment, planning, and implementation activities necessary to maintain operational continuity within the BDMC.
She serves on Westat’s Clinical Trials Practice Clinical Research Business Development, and Clinical Trials Practice Quality Board committees.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Martier managed web-based dissemination of clinical trials and health-related treatment information. She managed client relationships, executed new initiatives, and performed operational activities such as project planning, budget monitoring, and preparation of client deliverables.
