

Ravi Rajaram
Vice President and Information Technology Lead
Ravi Rajaram is a Vice President and Information Technology Lead in Westat’s Clinical Trials Practice. He is an IT manager with 30 years of experience in software development and database administration for supporting cancer clinical trials. His expertise includes systems analysis, requirements analysis, and development of technical specifications and recommendations for systems architecture. Mr. Rajaram has in-depth knowledge of Medidata Rave and Oracle Clinical databases, and he co-chaired the Systems Integration Focus Group of the Oracle Clinical Users Group for 7 years.
For NCI’s Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU), Mr. Rajaram is responsible for informatics infrastructure, systems architecture, applications development, and database integration among the CTSU, NCI, and the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) Groups. He is a member of the CTSU management team and leads the project’s systems change control board. As IT program manager for systems integration projects, Mr. Rajaram led a diverse team of IT professionals in integrating the CTSU enterprise system with external systems, including NCI databases, NCTN Group systems, and commercial off-the-shelf products such as Medidata Rave and Oracle Clinical. As project manager for development of a web-based patient registration system called OPEN, he coordinated with several institutions in their implementation of the system and managed project timelines and budgets.
In earlier work, Mr. Rajaram led an IT team in analysis, data extraction, and image management for antiretroviral research in Nigeria, under the sponsorship of the University of Maryland’s Institute of Human Virology.
Mr. Rajaram is a multiple Director’s Award recipient from the National Cancer Institute and National Institutes of Health.
